VENDOR CODE OF CONDUCT
Hot Topic, Inc. believes that consumers should have confidence in the products they purchase. In order to ensure that all our products are of high quality, BoxLunch requires that all vendors adhere to our Vendor Manual and Vendor Code of Conduct. All BoxLunch vendors must ensure, monitor and maintain compliance with the Vendor Code of Conduct which states the minimum standards we expect each vendor factory and facility to meet when producing our products.
Further BoxLunch recognizes the importance of providing our customers with products that have been produced in a legal and socially responsible manner. BoxLunch, requires each vendor (and those with whom the vendor conducts relevant business with) to comply with all applicable laws relating to workplace safety and conduct as well as meet BoxLunch’s minimum requirements when producing BoxLunch products as addressed in the Vendor Manual and Vendor Code of Conduct, some of those requirements are listed below.
Forced Labor
Child, forced, prison, involuntary or indentured labor must not be used or supported.
Harassment or Abuse
The workplace must be free from harassment which includes physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.
Nondiscrimination
Workers may not be discriminated against based on gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, or social or ethnic origin.
Health and Safety
Workers may not be exposed to unreasonably hazardous, unsafe, or unhealthy conditions.
Wages
Wages paid to workers, and pay practices, must meet or exceed legal and industry standards.
Protection of the Environment
Vendors and manufacturers must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Conduct Periodic Visits and Audits
Vendors must conduct, and allow us to conduct, periodic announced and unannounced visits to an appropriate sampling of company worksites and facilities of contractors to access compliance with the workplace standards.
Corrupt Practices (anti-bribery)
Vendors must comply with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977, as amended. Vendors will not offer or provide money or anything else of value to any agent or representative of any government or government agency in order to obtain or retain business.
Written Records
Vendors and their contractors must maintain written records evidencing compliance with BoxLunch’s Code of Conduct and must make those records available to us upon request.
Improper Influence
Vendors may not engage in any conduct likely, intending, or appearing to influence improperly any of our employees or representatives in the performance of their job responsibilities. Vendors must refrain from engaging in any conduct that may appear improper or result in a conflict of interest between the Vendor and us.
BoxLunch requires all vendors to verify they are sourcing materials from suppliers who are compliant with BoxLunch’s Vendor Code of Conduct. BoxLunch’s Vendor Manual also explicitly requires vendors and suppliers to comply with all local and country-specific labor laws and our Vendor Code of Conduct.
