Disney Mickey Mouse And Minnie Mouse Get A Horse! Black & White Maquette
Premiering at the Annecy Animation Festival on June 11, 2013, the animated short Get a Horse! is a masterful blend of classic black-and-white, hand-drawn animation paired with contemporary full-color, computer generated animation. Reminiscent of vintage Disney cartoons, the story stars Mickey, Minnie and their classic nemesis, Peg-Leg Pete, in a tale of romance, drama and hi-jinks as the characters jump seamlessly between two different eras. In a novel surprise, Walt Disney, the original voice of Mickey Mouse, returns to the silver screen and provides all of Mickey's dialogue carefully crafted from vintage shorts.
The exuberant Mickey and Minnie character maquettes from Get a Horse! were initially designed and hand-sculpted in clay by artist Andrea Blasich. The characters feature the elongated ''rubber hose'' limbs and exaggerated poses exemplified in animated shorts from the late 1920s.
This skillfully crafted, hand-painted sculpture was developed through the shared efforts of The Walt Disney Archives, Disney Imagineering and other Disney resources. To distinguish it from the original, the final production size varies approximately 10%. This piece is one of a sequentially numbered, randomly distributed limited edition series.
